Basic read permission
Treat the connection-only user_accounts:read decision separately from Pin, board or analytics access.
Pinterest / Connection-only Trial scope
Create an authorization record in the limited Trial connection and manage reconnection, replacement and removal separately.
PRODUCT VIEW
The basic Pinterest Trial connection authorizes an account without enabling publishing. The user reviews the relevant account during authorization and creates a local connection record associated with valid OAuth credentials. This basic workflow does not assume general import of Pinterest account IDs, profile names, boards or Pin data. Current access, reauthorization needs and removal are shown separately. Trial image publishing is a separately assessed five-scope permission workflow on top of this connection.
FROM NEED TO OUTCOME
A connected account does not necessarily mean boards can be read, Pins published or analytics enabled. Combining basic permission with separate Sandbox publishing permission obscures which data and operations were actually authorized.
Understand that the connection represents only basic identity and authorization scope. Reconnect or replace the correct account, and consider Pin operations only through a separately enabled Trial workflow.
STEP BY STEP
Check that workspace, administrator, provider and lifecycle requirements are ready for the basic connection.
Review the provider-returned candidate and operation type before connecting, reconnecting or replacing the account.
Track permission validity and reauthorization needs, and use the existing removal process when access is no longer needed.
INSIDE THE MODULE
Treat the connection-only user_accounts:read decision separately from Pin, board or analytics access.
Keep the operation used to approve a new or existing connection visible to the user.
Refresh connection permission where eligible, or assess replacing the candidate account as a separate decision.
Track an existing connection, reauthorization requirements and removed access as separate states.
Make clear that Trial image publishing needs authorization and final review independent of the basic connection.
IN EVERYDAY WORK
A basic connection record is created and its lifecycle tracked without implying that Pin or board operations have occurred.
Scenarios are illustrative; they are not customer testimonials or measured performance claims.
KNOW WHAT IS INCLUDED
The basic Pinterest connection is subject to limited Trial/pilot, administrator and workspace gates. The current technical workflow separately evaluates one workspace connection slot and lifecycle approval. Social plan capacity does not turn this into a generally available Pinterest service.
YOUR QUESTIONS
No. The existing basic workflow is connection-only; Trial image publishing requires separate permission and review.
The basic connection does not provide general board import. Eligible board selection during Trial publishing happens through a separate, limited workflow.
